Adam & The Ants - Prince Charming
This video has inspired smith and foulkes to come up with the Grr ad, of hate something change something. It basically uses a similar story in the fact that both videos change something that they hate. in this video they are bored and hate their social life, its then transformed into a ball room scene with the main character becoming Prince Charming. in the Honda video, the Diesle engine is hated so its changed for a much cleaner version.

Abba to Zappa
This is the video inspired by the banana splits intro. As you can see the inspiration comes from the almost child like style conveyed with the banana splits video. They have adopted a very quick style of changing characters just like the splits video is quick swopping and changing activities.

Smith & Foulkes inspiration
http://www.res.com/magazine/articles/drinkingintheinspirationreportfrommove3undertheinfluence_2006-06-02.htmlpop culture, film and TV fuel the visual inventiveness of ad-world darlings Alan Smith and Adam Foulkes. The audience took a trip down memory lane as the duo showed clips from works that inspired their own projects. These included the hyperactive intro from 1968 TV show The Banana Splits Adventure Hour, which triggered the frenetic pace of their Observer Music Monthly ad Abba to Zappa; and Adam and the Ants' swashbuckling music video, "Prince Charming," which provided one of many inspirations for their colorful and campy Honda commercial, Grrr. (It's the ad with Garrison Keillor's catchy chorus, "Hate something, change something, make something better.")
